Jessi Himmelsbach is currently a full time private educator, who creates individualized lesson plans and supplemental, enrichment activities to support students in reaching their academic potential. Formerly, Jessi had been as educator, for 5 years, for Avenues: The World School. She began teaching first grade English in 2014 and then looped to teach second grade for the following three years. During her work at Avenues, Jessi composed, developed and formatted curriculum for reading and writing workshop, mathematics and world studies. She piloted and delivered creative computing and coding curriculum in the classroom, as well as, delivering education through multiple technology based platforms.
Before her work at Avenues, she received a duel bachelors degree from Roger Williams University in Secondary Education and Spanish Language and Culture. Following her bachelors degree, Jessi attended Boston University and received her Masters in Literacy with a focus in Reading Education. During her masters, Jessi developed & pilot-tested a pre-service teacher education module to integrate sound educational media with effective instruction of early literacy and mathematics. Jessi’s love and passion for education is evident in all forms across multiple grade levels.
