Kim Scarsella

Italian - French - Lit
PreK - 12th Grade
Kim was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area to a family with strong ties to both French and Italian language and culture. She earned a BA from Cornell University where she double-majored in French and Performing and Media Arts. She also minored in Marine Biology and began taking Italian courses.
After college, she moved to Pau, France, where she participated in the TAPIF program teaching English. While there, she tutored private students on a weekly basis. She has also taught English to small-business owners in Calabria, Italy. Outside of teaching, Kim has used her language skills on film sets, working as a French translator on Sony’s Little Women and producing an Italian-American short film in Italy with an entirely Italian-speaking crew.
Her passion for language comes from her desire to connect with people all over the world, and she is excited to pass that joy along to her students.
