Stacey Hyman
​Staci holds a Master’s degree in Bilingual/Dual Language Education from Bank Street College, is an alumna of Teach For America and earned a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. With over fifteen years of pre-school through university level classroom experience, Staci is currently a head teacher in second grade Spanish immersion at Avenues. She is an avid fair weather runner and will run the NYC Marathon this spring! She also loves traveling to her other beloved metropolis, Mexico City.

Logan Davis
Logan is currently a candidate for her MFA in nonfiction writing at NYU. She graduated with Honors from Whitman College in 2016 with a BA in Creative Writing and Environmental Science.
She served as her major’s writing fellow in college, editing peer work for her professors and tutoring students in personal essay writing. After graduation, she joined AmeriCorps in Wyoming.
She’s excited to help students tell their story—be it for class, college application essays, or themselves. When she’s not writing, she’s busy being a helicopter dog mom and trying to explore every nook and cranny of the city."

Amanda Friedman
Amanda Friedman is currently a full time private educator, who creates individualized lesson plans tailored to students interests and needs so they can reach their academic potential.
Formerly, Amanda spent five years as a literacy specialist at Avenues The World School New York Campus. She worked specifically with first and second grade students and coached classroom teachers in reading, writing workshops and the Orton Gillingham Method.

Kristie is a 3rd grade teacher at St. Bernard's. She takes a “needs-based” approach to teaching, altering her lessons and implementing them in the classroom so that they can meet the needs of every student. Kristie is a dedicated, hard-working professional and her love and passion for education is evident through her work with her students.

Carli is a graduate of Columbia TC and is one of the youngest head teachers ever at Riverdale. When she's not educating, she is dancing, boxing, reading, or volunterring for the Jewish Big Brothers/Sister organization.

Julia Carey
Julia is a fourth grade teacher at Avenues: The World School with over ten years of experience in education. She spent five of those years as a second grade teacher at Shanghai American, where she became a certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and Parent Educator.

Julia has a Master in Teaching and degrees in English and Education from The College of NJ. She is a certified elementary educator as well as a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing.

Asher Lack
Asher has tutored privately for eleven years and works as the dedicated substitute teacher for the English department of Stuyvesant High School (where he has worked since 2009). He has worked with students across all levels of writing from simple composition to term papers and college essays, as well as math from basic arithmetic to pre-calculus.
He has years of experience preparing students for the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and SHSAT. Growing up in New York, Lack attended Stuyvesant High School and received his BFA in screenwriting from NYU’s Tisch School. When not teaching, he enjoys playing music.

Layla Deluca
Layla is a New York State certified general education and special education teacher. She has been working for private clients across New York from Buffalo to The Hamptons, since 2017.

Layla holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education, from SUNY Buffalo State College. While obtaining her masters degree in Buffalo, Layla worked as a kindergarten special education teacher. Prior to completing her master’s degree, Layla received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Fredonia.
Layla is a devoted and diligent educator who believes in maximizing the potentials of each child she works with.

Claudia Freedman
Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Claudia survived two Polar Vortexes (and a few milder Midwest winters) at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned two degrees: a regular Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film and a Journalism Bachelor of Arts with a focus on strategic communication (advertising and public relations) through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
​
She has experience teaching and tutoring in grades Kindergarten through 5th across all subjects in both California and New York City. Currently, Claudia is a 1st grade head teacher at The Caedmon School on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Previously, she was a 1st grade head teacher at Nightingale-Bamford School.
In her spare time, you can find her quoting Kristen Wiig, singing Broadway show tunes, or correcting your grammar.

Vincent DiGeronimo
Vincent is a full-time second grade teacher at Riverdale Country School. He has experience teaching and tutoring students from ages 4-9. He has experience with students as young as two in art, music, and dance from his work with Kidville in the Bronx. When Vincent is not working, he loves theatre (he has a BA in Theatre Arts from
Lehman College), songwriting, reading, and taking care of his two cats and dog.

Rachel Moskowitz
Rachel Moskowitz is a native New Yorker. She grew up on Long Island and has been living in New York City since 2017. Rachel is a graduate from Teachers College, Columbia University, with a Dual Masters in General Education and Special Education grades 1-6. Rachel has taught in the Bronx and the Upper West Side in multiple grades. She currently teaches 6th grade in an Integrated Co-teaching classroom at a public school on the Upper West Side. In her free time, she loves to travel and try all different types of food!

She has taught across grade levels in private, public and international schools while earning various teaching certifications.

Elizabeth started her teaching career in Namibia in the mid 90's. After returning to the U.S. she taught high school English and ESL, earned her MFA, and began teaching creative writing at the Uni level.

She holds a BA in English from UPenn, an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU, and a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from ASU!
