Priscilla Heidmann is the Lower School Spanish teacher at The Hewitt School on the Upper East Side in Manhattan and comes with over ten years of experience in child development. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a concentration in Translation from Montclair State University, Priscilla went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. She has
been able to apply this to her current role by creating a successful forum for
advancement in the Spanish Language.
Priscilla has transferred her knowledge of building curriculum over the last two years at The Hewitt School, implementing engaging lessons and developing a strong understanding of Spanish in each of her classes. Through interactive activities, her students can become confident language learners and apply the foundation for further growth.
Her true love of the Spanish culture is heavily derived from her Colombian background, with her parents maintaining the presence of the language, food, and music during her upbringing. Priscilla travels to Colombia as often as she can to visit her family and immerse herself in the environment while embracing her roots.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, experimenting with different flavors, and trying new decorating techniques! Priscilla takes advantage of any opportunity to travel, both domestically and internationally, and always makes time for her family and friends. She
is an enthusiastic educator and loves being part of each child’s journey.
