Originally from Southern California, Mikayla attended California Lutheran University, where she
earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing communications. Upon graduation, she moved back home to live with her family and began working as a marketing coordinator at a self-storage company. After working for a year, Mikayla decided that there was something more out there for her, and she decided to pursue a career in teaching. She applied and later was accepted into UC Irvine’s MAT + Credentialing program. During her year as a student teacher, she worked under the supervision of a mentor teacher in an 8th grade math classroom and earned a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics with English Learner Authorization.

Upon finishing her master’s program, Mikayla was hired by her high school alma mater, Santa
Margarita High School to teach Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. In 2022, Mikayla made the bold decision to move to New York City. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and is eager to work with students to enhance and enrich their academic development in math. Mikayla has experience teaching and tutoring students in mathematics ranging 7 th grade to 11 th grade. Mikayla is committed to differentiating her instruction to meet the needs of every student. Mikayla’s goal is to provide her students with both a positive and impactful learning experience to enrich their love and understanding of math.
