Jamie founded both Manhattan Mandarin and M2Tutoring. He has been teaching Mandarin since 2012 and is the Mandarin 1 teacher at Trinity. He loves showing students that they can and will learn Chinese!

Heritage speaker and bilingual educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Juan has a B.A. in Education Sciences and has completed all courses for an M.A. in Applied Linguistics. Juan earned his Certification in Bilingual, ELL & General Education in Dallas. ​Staci holds a Master’s degree in Bilingual/Dual Language Education from Bank Street College, is an alumna of Teach For America and earned a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. With over fifteen years of pre-school through university level classroom experience, Staci is currently a head teacher in second grade Spanish immersion at Avenues. She is an avid fair weather runner and will run the NYC Marathon this spring! She also loves traveling to her other beloved metropolis, Mexico City.

Amanda Friedman

Amanda Friedman is currently a full time private educator, who creates individualized lesson plans tailored to students interests and needs so they can reach their academic potential.


Formerly, Amanda spent five years as a literacy specialist at Avenues The World School New York Campus. She worked specifically with first and second grade students and coached classroom teachers in reading, writing workshops and the Orton Gillingham Method.

Yarden Tamari

Yarden has a B.S. in Math and Comp Schi from NYU - Courant and has been a TA for multiple college-level math classes. She loves working one-on-one with students and simplifying the complex.


Yarden hails from Israel, is fluent in Hebrew, and is also a strength and conditioning coach.

Julia is a fourth grade teacher at Avenues: The World School with over ten years of experience in education. She spent five of those years as a second grade teacher at Shanghai American, where she became a certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and Parent Educator.

Julia has a Master in Teaching and degrees in English and Education from The College of NJ. She is a certified elementary educator as well as a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing.

Priscilla Heidmann

Priscilla is the lower school Spanish teacher at The Hewitt School. She has over ten years of experience and a BA in Spanish and a Master's in Education from Montclair. 

Priscilla's love of Spanish culture derives from her Columbian background and she travel to Columbia as often as she can. While she loves travel and baking, her true passion is education.

Asher Lack

SAT/SSAT/ACT - English - Math

Asher has tutored privately for eleven years and works as the dedicated substitute teacher for the English department of Stuyvesant High School (where he has worked since 2009). He has worked with students across all levels of writing from simple composition to term papers and college essays, as well as math from basic arithmetic to pre-calculus.


He has years of experience preparing students for the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and SHSAT. Growing up in New York, Lack attended Stuyvesant High School and received his BFA in screenwriting from NYU’s Tisch School. When not teaching, he enjoys playing music.

He is not only imparting knowledge to students but has always been helping students to pursue critical thinking skills and gain self-confidence through learning.

Layla Deluca

Layla is a New York State certified general education and special education teacher. She has been working for private clients across New York from Buffalo to The Hamptons, since 2017. 


Layla is committed to individualizing instruction to each learner in order to reach every student and their needs. While prioritizing developmentally appropriate instruction, Layla strives to make education an enjoyable experience. 


Layla holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education, from SUNY Buffalo State College. While obtaining her masters degree in Buffalo, Layla worked as a kindergarten special education teacher. Prior to completing her master’s degree, Layla received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Fredonia. 


 Layla is a devoted and diligent educator who believes in maximizing the potentials of each child she works with.

Ari Livne

Ari graduated cum laude from Yale University and since moving to New York in 2012 he has worked with students of nearly all ages across a wide variety of subjects. He believes his students academic success is always a priority but remains fiercely committed to cultivating academic independence.  

Ari is also an accomplished classical pianist. He received a master's from Julliard and is currently working towards a doctorate in music at CUNY Graduate Center. He also teaches music theory at Hunter College.

Laura Bradford

Laura loves teaching math! She currently splits her time between tutoring and teaching math part-time at The Chapin School in Manhattan. Her favorite part of tutoring is witnessing those moments when students reach their goals in math and in their broader lives.

She began her math journey at Bard College, where she earned her BA and MAT in math. She taught at Exeter for 3 years before moving to NYC. Laura is experienced and passionate about tutoring all kinds of math curricula, but Exeter Math holds a special place in her heart!

In her free time, Laura enjoys strength training, reading, sewing, origami, composing music, walking to places near and far, and spending time with her friends and family.

Claudia Freedman

Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Claudia survived two Polar Vortexes (and a few milder Midwest winters) at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned two degrees: a regular Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film and a Journalism Bachelor of Arts with a focus on strategic communication (advertising and public relations) through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

She has experience teaching and tutoring in grades Kindergarten through 5th across all subjects in both California and New York City. Currently, Claudia is a 1st grade head teacher at The Caedmon School on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Previously, she was a 1st grade head teacher at Nightingale-Bamford School.


In her spare time, you can find her quoting Kristen Wiig, singing Broadway show tunes, or correcting your grammar.

Vincent DiGeronimo

Vincent is a full-time second grade teacher at Riverdale Country School. He has experience teaching and tutoring students from ages 4-9. He has experience with students as young as two in art, music, and dance from his work with Kidville in the Bronx. When Vincent is not working, he loves theatre (he has a BA in Theatre Arts from
Lehman College), songwriting, reading, and taking care of his two cats and dog.

Rachel Moskowitz

Rachel Moskowitz is a native New Yorker. She grew up on Long Island and has been living in New York City since 2017. Rachel is a graduate from Teachers College, Columbia University, with a Dual Masters in General Education and Special Education grades 1-6. Rachel has taught in the Bronx and the Upper West Side in multiple grades. She currently teaches 6th grade in an Integrated Co-teaching classroom at a public school on the Upper West Side. In her free time, she loves to travel and try all different types of food!

Jon Kopita

Math - Chem - Physics - College App

Jon has been a NYC-based tutor, educational consultant, and college app adviser for the past 30 years. He has worked with families from all over the world.

Jon is a graduate of Cornell with a BA in Chem and a concentration in Physics. After working for a large chemical company he decided to move into tutoring full-time in 1989 and hasn't looked back. 

He has a holistic teaching approach, focusing on a student's entire learning profile while tailoring lessons to individual needs and learning styles. He loves working with families over the entire course of their child's academic career.

Jon is an avid traveler and hopes to reach 100 countries visited in the coming years.

Dustin Long

Elizabeth Lowry

Elizabeth started her teaching career in Namibia in the mid 90's. After returning to the U.S. she taught high school English and ESL, earned her MFA, and began teaching creative writing at the Uni level. 

She holds a BA in English from UPenn, an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU, and a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from ASU!

Victor Pereira

Victor grew up in Boa Esperança in São Paulo, Brazil. He has a background in Chemical Engineering – Nanoengineering, and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California. His expertise lies in the sciences and mathematics subject fields such as; Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Calculus, and Physics. Victor is currently, pursuing his Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University with a Behring Fellowship.

Natela Mchedlishvili

Piano

Natela began her musical studies at the age of six at the Special Music School for gifted children in Tbilisi, Georgia and eventually graduated with a doctorate degree from the Georgia State Conservatory. 

Since 1994, Natela has lived in NYC with her husband and two sons. She teachers at Kaufman Music Center, Lucy Moses, and Manhattan School of Music and now M2!
